The Frio River Baptist Association is comprised of 50 churches.  These congregations represent African-American, Anglo and Hispanic Baptists.

We hope our website will help you to locate a church, discover a ministry opportunity, or identify a special event that meets your needs.

Do you want to be more involved in God's work?

  1. Pray and ask God for ideas and ways to be involved in His work.
  2. Look for ways to use your gifts and natural abilities to serve God.
  3. Pray for a new awareness of your own community's needs and demonstrate God's love.
  4. Share with others the joy of knowing and serving God.

At Frio River Baptist Association we believe if you approach missions prayerfully and with a willing heart, God will provide opportunites to be of service to Him and to others.

  • HELPING SURVIVORS OF HURRICANE HARVEY

    Monday, August 28, 2017

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

During this challenging time, many of us are looking for ways to assist our fellow Texans in the aftermath and recovery.  If you are eager to help, please consider these time proven tips:

    • Please do not collect supplies to send unless a specific organization has requested them and has agreed to receive them.
    • Please do not send used clothes, shoes or jackets.
    • In most cases monetary donations are more helpful than volunteers.
    • Please do not travel to the affected areas unless you are part of a recognized and approved disaster relief team.  Self-deployment is highly discouraged, since every part of the infrastructure is overloaded.

The first and most important thing you can do is PRAY.  Pray for survivors, utility workers, first-responders, military units, disaster relief agencies and all of those working to meet the many needs of the hurricane victims.  This will be going on for some time, as these families and communities struggle to rebuild.  Our continued prayers are greatly needed, and greatly appreciated.

If you're looking for additional ways to help, here are some links to show you how you can do it most effectively:

Cowboy Fellowship (561 FM 3350, Jourdanton, TX 78026) is accepting ONLY the following items to meet initial needs:  bottled water, nonperishable foods, large stack-able plastic containers, garbage bags, rubber gloves, cleaning supplies, and monetary donations.

If you would like to donate any of these items, please bring them by the church Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm and place them in our whit box trailer which will be parked out front.

In San Antonio, the San Antonio Food Bank is taking material donations & looking for local volunteers.

Most needed items are nonperishable food, water, baby food, diapers, flashlights and batteries, new or packaged clothing (NO USED ITEMS OF ANY TYPE), hygiene items, and cleaning supplies.  Donations can be dropped off at the Food Bank warehouse 8am-5pm or at the San Antonio City Council district offices. Click here for addresses and hours.

Volunteers are also in critical need as they respond to local and statewide needs: emergency food boxes, hot meals, and more. Click here to view volunteer opportunities!

FRBA prefers that you send your donations directly to the organization of your choice (rather than to our offices).  This will help your donation to get where it is needed much faster.

Please keep praying...Harvey is not through with Texas yet!

  • Yes, we have a Facebook Page!!

Be sure to "like" our Facebook page, and tell your friends and church members to "like" us too.  It's a great source of information about what's going on in our Association churches.  Check it out and let us know what you think!

If you have announcements about upcoming events, or pictures from past events you'd like to have posted, please send them to Laurie Beth at the FRBA office.

  • Thought for today...

“There’s no better book with which to defend the Bible than the Bible itself”  -- D. L. Moody --

    5 Every word of God is pure;

He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.

6 Do not add to His words,

Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.

Proverbs 30:5-6 New King James Version (NKJV)
